Purpose is everywhere. But real purpose? That’s something different.
In a world where “purpose-led” is fast becoming a label, we believe actions speak louder than words. Pouring with Purpose is our way of spotlighting the brands that are actually doing the work. The ones quietly (or boldly) pouring a little more into people, communities, and the world around them.
This isn’t about perfection. It’s about intention, impact and the brands that are walking it, not just talking it.
Each feature shines a light on a brand that is creating meaningful change, building something beyond the product and showing that business can be a force for good. Because people don’t buy “purpose” as a word. They buy what it looks like in action.
This month, Pouring with Purpose features a distillery that has built safety into its business model: Still Sisters.
Still Sisters is a woman-founded distillery in the South West, producing award-winning spirits from sites in Somerset and Wiltshire and selling into national retailers. They are proof that purpose and commercial success belong together, not in tension.
What sets them apart sits beyond the bottle. Still Sisters has become a leading voice for women's safety in the night-time economy. As a Safe Haven venue and South West Ambassador for Ask for Angela, they give customers and staff practical support when it matters most: safe spaces, trained people, and partnerships that work in real situations rather than on paper.
That work reaches past their own doors. They have helped rebuild local Pubwatch schemes, brought councils, police and charities to the same table, and created Free the Night, an event built to help women feel confident and supported on a night out. Other towns are already adopting the model.
The same thinking runs inside the business. Still Sisters creates opportunities for women, backs them into leadership, and builds a culture where people feel valued and able to grow.
This is not a distillery with purpose added on afterwards. It is a business built around it.
Still Sisters proves that what you pour can change how people feel about a night out.

Our latest Pouring with Purpose feature shines a light on a brand built for the bold and ambitious, and one that’s been quietly redefining what purpose in coffee really looks like. Introducing Paddy & Scott’s.
Paddy & Scott’s is a UK-based coffee company pairing exceptional quality with a mission to create real, lasting change for coffee farmers, communities, and the planet. Supplying over 430 hospitality venues, including partners like Marriott International, they’ve proven that purpose and commercial success aren’t just compatible, but they’re inseparable.
But what sits behind the cup is where the story really brews. Through the Mount Kenya blend, Paddy & Scott’s have funded over 845,000 school meals to date, so children in coffee-growing communities can focus on learning, not where their next meal will come from. And they’ve gone further, partnering with Mount Kenya Trust to deliver Dignity Packs for girls in Kenya’s Meru region, where 24% of young women aged 15 to 19 have experienced pregnancy and where a lack of access to sanitary products keeps too many out of the classroom.
Each pack contains reusable sanitary products, hygiene essentials, and educational materials, locally made, supporting local women, and breaking down the stigma around menstrual health. This year, that commitment showed up boldly. For International Women’s Day, Paddy & Scott’s rebranded as “Jessie & Ketty’s” for the entire month of March, honouring Jessie (Head of Purpose at Paddy & Scott’s) and Ketty (Health Programme Officer at Mount Kenya Trust), two women linking the UK directly to the communities they serve.
Every bag of Mount Kenya sold funds another Dignity Pack. Every cup fuels ambition. Every partnership pours a little more back into the people and places that make the coffee possible.
This isn’t coffee with a cause bolted on. It’s coffee built around one.
